Register Now for Manatee County Water School
The Southwest Florida Water Management District and Manatee County are giving residents a chance to learn about local water resource issues and how to make a difference during the Manatee County Extension Water School.
The District believes citizens need to become actively engaged in water-related issues including conservation, protection and preservation. The school motivates communities to get involved in protecting their water resources.
The two-day event starts April 26 and is aimed at current and future policy makers and interested residents of Manatee County. Registration is $30 and includes two lunches, refreshments and educational materials.
The first day features discussions from industry experts as they share their views on current and future water resource issues and regulations. Participants will discover how to get involved and influence local policy and the future of water resources.
During the second day, participants will tour several locations around Manatee County to learn various perspectives regarding water resource management, including the individual homeowner, community and agricultural.
The event is hosted by the University of Florida IFAS Manatee County Extension office and sponsored by the District, Manatee County Government and SMR Farms.
