Lee County makes infrastructure improvements following Hurricane Irma
LEE COUNTY – Three years ago, Hurricane Irma made landfall in our community and Lee County says they’ve addressed flooding concerns since.
“I remember seeing my shed fly in the air and going like 100 feet to the lot that way,” said Jose Diaz of Buckingham Florida.
People rode airboats through flooded streets in Buckingham, “Pretty much everything was flooded around here. The canal was over flooding,” said Diaz.
Others were stuck in their homes in Bonita Springs. “I think we stayed almost 2 months out of the house,” said resident Beatriz Perez.
