Registration open for 16th Annual Sustainable Communities Workshop
Workshop to focus on the "Roots of Sustainability" for a better future
Registration is now open for Sarasota County's 16th Annual Sustainable Communities Workshop, an online event Nov. 10 to showcase strategies for healthy, resilient, thriving communities.
Under the “Roots of Sustainability” theme, the virtual conference will draw together residents, students, and community members of all ages, sectors, and walks of life to learn about environmental, economic, and social aspects of sustainability. Featured speakers and panelists will discuss the latest sustainability strategies, resources, and best practices, while focusing on the roots of sustainability.
“Building on the success of last year’s workshop, this year’s event will feature speakers, panelists, exhibitors, and more that will focus on not only the urgency we face with water and climate issues but also the many ways that anyone can get involved and make a difference toward a more sustainable future,” said Sara Kane, sustainability program supervisor with Sarasota County UF/IFAS Extension and Sustainability.
Like many areas of the world, Florida is experiencing impacts related to natural resources, climate change, and rapid population growth. This workshop offers expert insight on approaches to create lasting, healthy communities that address these issues, among many others.
Register now at https://ufsarasotaext.eventbrite.com to save your spot for the 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. workshop, packed with information on climate change and resiliency, water quality, social equity, and more.
