Charlotte Harbor Estuaries Program Reaches Out

The Northwest Regional Library has partnered with the Charlotte Harbor National Estuaries Program to help educate patrons about the waters right in their backyard.

The library will feature weekly programs covering Florida-friendly landscaping, sea life in the estuaries and the salt marsh ecosystem. Library patrons can also see the exhibit on display during normal library hours and collect pamphlets with more information about CHNEP. The program runs through Feb 15.

CHNEP program director Lisa Beever was on hand for the first program with the library, an overview of the CHNEP program and why it is important to Lee County residents.

“I could talk for hours about what we’re accomplishing,” Beever told the audience, laughing.
