Public meeting May 22nd on SFWMD Conservation Land Assessment

The South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) is conducting evaluations of conservation land holdings to assess how each parcel meets the District's core mission and to identify lands for surplussing to be sold throughout the District.

The effort is now focused on SFWMD-owned lands on the West Coast. The public is encouraged to review, comment and attend the upcoming May 22 public workshop at the Lower West Coast Service Center. If no public input is received on some parcels, it could be construed as the public having little or no interest in the parcel, which could result in a higher likelihood of surplussing.

The May 22 public workshop will be held at the Lower West Coast Service Center, 2301 McGregor Boulevard in Fort Myers, from 10 a.m. to noon. The deadline for comments, which can only be submitted through their website, is May 28. See the links below to access detailed information and the comment form.
