Ft. Myers downtown basin wins project of the year

The National Public Works Association has awarded its prestigious Small City Rural Community (SCRC) Public Works Projects of the Year Award. to the City of Fort Myers. The award is for the Model Stormwater Urban Retrofit of the Fort Myers Riverfront Downtown Detention Basin.

The Water Detention Basin Project is the first step toward bringing the vision of the downtown plan to reality. With the completion of this exciting phase, Fort Myers is poised to join other world-class waterfront cities, as its citizens, visitors and friends can live, work and play on the banks of the Calooshahatchee River.
