Chili cook-off to benefit families of AZ Granite Mountain Hot Shot firefighters

NAPLES – Wildland Firefighters in South Florida will be hosting a chilli cook-off and family fun event on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Golden Gate Fire Department in Naples, Florida. 11am-2pm. ALL proceeds will support the families of the 19 Granite Mountain Hot shot Firefighters in Arizona who died in the line of duty last month fighting the Yarnell Hill Wildfire. Chance tickets will be sold for great prizes- raffle at 1:15- don't have to be present to win! Activities will include opportunities to see the fire trucks, fire-fighting airboats, swamp buggies and the Rookery Bay Reserve Prescribed Fire Team’s “Attack Truck”. There will be fire gear and hose ‘lays” for the kids to spray water and get a feel for what being a firefighter is all about. Vote for your favorite firehouse chili!

Come out and join local fire fighters, their families, members of the Panther National Wildlife Refuge, J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge and others for a day of fun and support the families of fallen firefighters. All proceeds goes to the Wildland Firefighters Foundation. Saturday, July 20, Golden Gate Fire Department, 14575 Collier Blvd., Naples. 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

If you can not make it to Naples, get outside with Tarpon Bay Explorers, "Ding" Darling Refuge's concessionaire, where all of the proceeds from Saturday, July 20, go to the Wildland Firefighters Foundation also!
