Lee County offers beach parks and preserves volunteer training program
Lee County Beach Parks & Preserves, including Bowditch Point Regional Park,
Mantanzas Pass Preserve and Bunche Beach Preserve, offer residents and visitors
the year-round opportunity to increase their awareness of the importance of
barrier islands and their unique ecosystem of plants/animals native to the
Southwest Florida bio-region. Volunteer Interpretive Naturalists provide
observation guidance and interpretive answers to visitor's questions.
A three-session training program provides the necessary resources,
information, hands-on experiences and educational guidance essential for adult
Volunteer Interpretive Naturalists at these parks and preserves.
The three training sessions will be held Saturday mornings between 9:00 am - 12:00 noon at the sites
listed above for each session. Interested adults must attend all three sessions to become an active
Volunteer Interpretive Naturalist at these beach parks and preserves. The sessions will be held on January 11th, 18th and 25th.
