Restoration project to close portions of CREW Preserve
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) will temporarily close portions of the CREW Wildlife and Environmental Area located in Lee and Collier counties. A restoration project in the WEA has resulted in this action. The project will commence Feb. 29 for an anticipated period of 18 months.
All hunting and other public access is prohibited on all portions of Flint Pen Strand and Bird Rookery Swamp units south of Sand Road, west of the western North/South Tram Road, and north of Bonita Beach Road. Additionally, access is prohibited in the portion of Flint Pen Strand Unit located at the northeast intersection of Sand Road and Poorman’s Pass Road, extending north 900 yards and east to County Line Road.
These regulations will remain in effect until rescinded to ensure public safety and resource conservation.
