Matlacha Fishing Pier closed due to unsafe conditions

Matlacha – The Matlacha Fishing Pier located at Matlacha Park, 4577 Pine Island Road, has been closed until further notice due to unsafe conditions. This is the result of an on-site inspection earlier today.

Lee County staff from Lee County Parks & Recreation and Lee County Facilities Construction & Management will work with a contractor to evaluate and resolve the pier’s issue.

All amenities at Matlacha Park except the pier remain open with regular hours.

Fishing opportunities are available immediately east of the pier at Bat House Park, 4445 Pine Island Road, Matlacha.
