North Port to replace docks at Dallas White Park
NORTH PORT –
The City of North Port will be replacing the docks at Dallas White Park.
Construction is scheduled to begin on or about Wednesday, Oct. 3 and should be completed on or before Friday, Nov. 9. The boat ramp and dock area will be closed to the public during that time. The kayak launch will remain open.
In the meantime, the public is encouraged to use the boat ramp and docks at Marina Park, 7030 Chancellor Blvd.
This is one of the many enhancements that the City has been making to improve access to its extensive canal system. In recent years, the City installed kayak launches and portages around water control structures to create a six mile waterway route that travels from Butler Park to Dallas White Park to McKibben Park to Blue Ridge Park. A kayak launch has also been installed behind City Hall to access the Snover Waterway.
