Cape Coral makes plans to mitigate blue-green algae

CAPE CORAL – The City of Cape Coral has devised a plan to mitigate the toxic blue-green algae issue.

The City confirmed it’s waiting for a manufacturer to deliver a supply of clay and will begin a hydroseeding process. This clay will be mixed in a 400-gallon tank and sprayed into the canals, utilizing empty lots to get close to the waterways. There’s hope the clay will grab, sink and destroy the toxic algae.
