CHARLOTTE COUNTY – There are still seats available for the Florida Master Naturalist Program Coastal Module, offered by UF/IFAS Extension Florida Sea Grant Charlotte County. The course will be taught on six consecutive Thursdays starting March 14, 2024 and will include lectures on Florida’s marine and coastal ecosystems, hosted at Tringali Community Center in Englewood, as well as field trips to example habitats in Charlotte County.
Course registration is $350 with the opportunity to pay an extra $75 for a paper copy of the learning materials. The last day to register for the course is March 1, 2024.
The Florida Master Naturalist Program (FMNP) is an adult education program developed by the University of Florida and provided by participating organizations. Courses have been offered in Charlotte County since 2009. Upon graduation from the Freshwater Module, Uplands Module, and Coastal Module, students earn the certification of Florida Master Naturalist. Annually, Florida Sea Grant plans to offer the Uplands System module at the beginning of each year, the Coastal Module in the spring, and the Freshwater Module in the fall. The next available class will be Freshwater Systems in Fall 2024.
